COSMETIC SKIRT

The medium used for the design on this circle skirt is paint stick. Paint sticks look like large oil pastels and they are made up of oil paints. They leave a waxy and thick layer on the canvas fabric. The texture of this medium and some of the colors in my pack reminded me of lipsticks and other cosmetics. I decided to design a skirt inspired by cosmetics and create a circular repeat design of lips and smudgy, black, mascara coated eyes. My design was later featured in the pre-show for the Wilson College of Textiles'  Threads Collection Fashion Show Fall, 2016.
